Having troubles when reading for a test

I don't know if its me, i find it difficult for my memory to keep a lot of information. It only takes in a certain amount maybe i loose focus. There's one other challenge yht i have is the misunderstanding of the questions, i recently wrote a test on Literature studies and i think i did'nt perform well. I would love to find some links which will guide me on how to go about when one is reading for a test.

  1. I know exactly how it feels, I use to be the same. Not knowing how to read to study but only knowing how to read for pleasure. I found that reading to study takes much more concentration and repeat reading, one also have to understand exactly what you are reading to ensure that you will be able to put the knowledge down properly in a test. I also had problems with misunderstanding questions when I started studying, due to my home language being Afrikaans and 99% of all my tests being in English, in this case I learned that reading carefully, reading over and over and breaking up the question helps a lot. I don't know of any links that will help you though, maybe some of our other classmates can help you with that.
